I have good news, and bad news. The good news is this is my first beard, the bad news is this will be my last cigar as a successful Doc-o-ter. (What do you think of my first beard? REVIEW MY BEARD just click on the purple comments below {I stole this idea from McSweeney's})

The beard is a delicate, delicate thing. it walks a thin and dangerous line between distinguised and pirate-like. when one chooses to have a beard, it is necessary to stop and ask oneself- is this really the best me? or am i just a scratchier inferior version of my previous self? these are the theoretical conundrums of The Beard. mark's beard was very nice. however, he is still nice without a beard. theoretical considerations aside, i think both versions are equally good. yeah for beards! yeah for shaving! yeah for mark!
For a first beard, I was very, very impressed. The grooming, the shaping, the attention to detail all combined to produce quite a successful first attempt. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Mark's future beards will show the same dedication and caring touch, or if they will succumb to pretentiousness and mediocrity, as so many second beards do. Rumor has it that Mark's next venture will be a goatee. Let's hope he remembers what a tricky thing a goatee can be, and that he chooses his hair growth pattern with honesty and compassion for others.
I have seen Dr. Siano with a goatee, and I must say, he looks like Evil Incarnate.
The beard is nice, sort of a "fuck you" to the heat of the desert and at the same time lends an air of legitimacy not previously found on such an illegitimate face.
What does that even mean?
I don't know, but the beard gets an 8 out of 10.
Dignifed. 4.0 100%. Methinks you might reconsider this as your last.
